Between the customer and our designers, creativity is continually used to come up with new ideas. This latest job has some interesting aspects to share that you may want to incorporate into your bathroom renovation. This homeowner had three bathrooms in the house and they all needed an update. If your budget can allow, it sure is nice to get all three done one after the other. It will save you some labour cost and keep the disruption to a minimum.
The largest of the three bathrooms in this Lindenwoods home was the ensuite. It had a large whirlpool tub with a large deck around the tub. The tub or the deck area was not being used except for storage.
The homeowner had us build a custom shower which turned out fantastic!
We shaped the shower and glass to suit the existing windows. A composite moulding was installed around the windows so they were suitable for a shower application. Notice as well the new idea of stainless steel shower niches.
This idea has some advantages over the custom tile niches which are still common as well. Stainless is easy to clean with no grout inside where water can sit and require some upkeep. The rain shower head is becoming very popular too. The new tile floor is heated with a custom Nu-heat mat for a much improved bath experience and environment!
Next we moved onto the main bath which is used by the girls. It had your basic standard 5’ tub shower unit commonly used 20 years ago.
The new shower base is curved which provides much more shower room and aesthetic appeal.
The powder room had a smaller budget so we installed a new glass tile back splash and cool open spout faucet.
