Removal of Metals with Biogaurd!

Hey there fellow pool swimmers! Today we’ve got metals in our pool and we are going to tell you what we are going to do about it! Having to much metal in the pool can cause unsightly stains on your liner from metal staining. There are 2 things that cause this, alkalinity and pH. When we do not have enough of these 2 chemicals our pool will start to get hungry and eat our equipment, most commonly the heater. You MUST bring in a water sample to get the recommended amount of chemical for your pool size and amount of metals.

YOU MUST BRING IN A WATER SAMPLE TO AQUA-TECH TO GET THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT OF CHEMICAL FOR YOUR POOL SIZE AND AMOUNT OF METALS IN YOUR POOL BEFORE YOU BEGIN!

Follow our steps to completely remove metals from your pool!

Step 1. Ensure that your skimmer basket is full of Basic Tabs or Smart SilkGuard Sticks.

Step 2. Pool Magnet Plus goes around the edges of your pool.

Step 3. Broadcast Balance Pak 100 across the pool surface. You MUST wait 6 hours before proceeding to the next step.

Step 4. Add Sparkle Up SLOWLY to the skimmer. This will form a mesh on top of your sand filter, and will attract all metals coated with the Pool Magnet Plus.
NOTE: If you do not add enough Pool Magnet Plus to your pool you will not catch all of the metals once we add the Sparkle Up.

****When the filter’s pressure gauge reads 8 – 10 lbs higher than normal, backwash the filter for 3 – 5 minutes, and then rinse the filter for 20 – 30 seconds.

Repeat step 4 as many times as you need until the container of Sparkle Up has been used in full. At this time its not uncommon to hear sounds coming from your pump. If you are unsure about continuing with the process, feel free to give us a call.

Step 5. When all the applications in Step 4 are complete, bring in a follow up water sample to Aqua-Tech’s Water Lab.
