Spring marks the return of pool season, but it also brings the risk of floating liners caused by rising groundwater. When excess water builds up behind the vinyl liner, it can cause lifting or bubbling. This often happens due to heavy rain, snowmelt, or even leaks from the pool itself. To prevent this issue, maintaining a sump pit is essential, as it helps pump out excess groundwater. Managing your winter cover properly also plays a key role—keeping water in the pool before draining the cover helps balance internal and external pressure. Additionally, using a safety cover allows rain and snowmelt to naturally refill the pool, reducing the risk of a floating liner. If a liner does float, removing the trapped water quickly is crucial. Taking proactive steps will help keep your pool liner secure and in top condition.
