Spa temp wrong, shutting off

Occasionally my spa (a 2002 Optima) will read 44-45 degrees celcius and the OH will flash. I’m guessing the temperature sensor is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced? (the actual spa temp is much cooler)

In addition, several times since this started happening i’ll go check on the spa and the topside control panel will be blank and non-responsive, like it’s shut off. So i flip the breaker off for 15 mins and back on and it comes on again. My second question is could the spa be shutting itself down because of the OH code?

  1. Derek when the control panel is blank or has —- (4 dashes) it is in WATCHDOG. Sometimes following an OH msg this happens. An OH msg and or WATCHDOG can be caused by a poor connection to or at the temp sensor and or the hi-limit, a bad temp sensor or hi-limit, bad PWA, bad Control panel or bad transformer. A runaway heat condition can also cause OH.
