- Our pool water pump was making more noise than usual upon start up this season. It was suggested that we see is the noise lessens with use. It has not. Today, our slide water was not running with the same pressure it had earlier in the season. These two issues may not be related but together made us decide that we should ask.

Katherine sometimes if the pump basket is plugged it can make the pump louder. A plugged pump impellor could also create a louder noise from the pump. The motor itself could have bearings that are wearing and creating the louder noise. Typically if the psi side of the system ie slide or pool returns are weaker this could be attributed to dirty or greased up cartridge filters.
