I have the black box style fibre light, this season the brightness is about half of what it previously was. Is it just a light bulb that needs changing?

Hi Craig. The light bulbs typically don’t diminish in brightness over time. They just burnout or break over time. If you have only one lense at your pool side it could be the lens is dirty or if it is an older setup lens housing the fiber strands could have shifted away from the lens housing. The fiber strands at the box could also be dusty and or dirty. If you have perimeter lighting strand the strand sheathing can get get faded over time from UV rays. Sometimes the perimeter strand can be cleaned with product. Sometimes if it is badly damaged from UV it needs to be overhauled.
