“PLuG Error code”

Our tub went into watchdog mode, you folks recommended I try replacing the Temp Sensor… it worked!!! But now it runs for about 10 min and says “PLuG”. Why would that be. I checked the Temp sensor (and the one beside it) both in the water at 20 Celsius and I have a reading of about 4000 Omz. What would cause this?

Thanks

  1. Marty it sounds like there may be a bad connection at the sensor harness or where the harness connects to the PWA. If that is good then check to see if you have a jumper on JP19 #7. If you do remove it. If you don’t you may have a bad PWA. If all else fails contact your local Sundance Spa Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your spa.

  2. 1998 Sundance optima having major trouble. Sentry 850 box. Light around control pad is flickering as is the light in the spa and the air blower is faintly going. I have two control boards and two control pads and swapping and changing have made no difference. I’ve had person after person look at this thing and no one has a clue. It shows —- the watchdog message and something else in the back round faintly flickering the same as the lights. If you unplug j6 the blower turns off but lights keep flickering. Transformer is fine that’s been tested control board has new capacitors, voltage regulators etc etc I’ve spent tons trying to fix this thing. Please help

    1. Brendon, check your incoming voltage at TB1 with a multimeter. You should have 240vac +/- 10% here. If you don’t consult with an electrician re your GFCI and power feed wire. The 850 Optima is a no load neutral hookup so make sure your neutral wire is not tied in at the Sentry control box and not tied in at your GFCI. If you do have correct incoming voltage you may want to disconnect your remote control panel. This will be located below the Sentry control box near the sensor loom. If this makes no difference you may have a bad Tri-ac circuit on your PWA. A weak blower sound is a symptom with a bad Tri-ac. If you require a new remote panel or PWA contact parts@aqua-tech.ca to order these parts. If all else fails contact your local Sundance Support Service Desk to perform a diagnostic and repair of your 1998 Sundance Optima spa.

  3. I have a 2000 Sundance optima 850. We have had an ongoing Flo problem creating a temperature problem.
Among other things we replaced the filter, backflushed the system to eliminate air bubbles, burped the system by opening the pump connections. Replaced the heater, flow switch, circ pump and one of the other pumps.
Our latest error code shows Plug and still no increase in temperature.

    1. Plug typically means that the Test Plug has been left on the board Dick. If you recently had the spa serviced by a Sundance Spa Tech have him remove the plug. If that all checks out somebody maybe placed a jumper across JP19 #7. If that is the case move the jumper to JP9 #7. If that all checks out you could have a bad board.
