I HAVe a new vs pump and need to know what speeds each of the 4 setting should be

  1. Hi Kelly. Speed settings on the pump are really more an owners preference. When the pump was installed it would have been programmed. The speeds should be retained in memory from those settings. Usually owners pick a speed that has enough flow to activate their pool heater pressure switch or to reach their solar collectors and to have enough flow to activate their salt chlorinator or Uv sanitizer and then a quiet night time speed and a faster circulation speed. The speed for the heater may be your regular daytime speed. 2500-3000rpm is typically enough to turn the pool over in a 24hr period. Make sure you are not creating more pressure then needed through the filter. Filter psi gauges typically run at approx 8-10lbs.
