My lowest setting as per Aquatech advice is 1400. Seems like my heater will not function at this low rate. Is that normal? I slowly increased the flow and at about 1550, the heater kicked in. What are your preferred settings in order to maintain heater function?

Ken, you may want to check your filter condition. It could be restricting flow just enough to not allow the heater to run at that speed. An easy way to find out would be to remove the filter and run the system and heater briefly at that speed to see if it works.
