The display on my starite (max e therm) reads 84 (temp is set for 84); however, the actual temperature of the pool is 92 ie. heater is not shutting off at the set temp. Is this a thermistor problem?

Susan check the water temperature with a couple of accurate thermometers in the pool skimmer. If there is still a difference of 8 degrees you could have a bad thermistor. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your Pentair Maxetherm Heater.
