Sta-Rite heater is not running and is showing E05 and saying service system. I have shut the heater down and turned it back on. It runs for about 2-4 days and shuts down again. I have cleaned the filters. The water level is fine. I have an in-ground pool that is 3 years old. We have a cartridge filter. What can I do next?

Darcy when the Maxetherm heater throws an EO5 code there could be a number of reasons. If your Stack Flue Sensor is sensing a high flue temperature you would want to verify that your heat exchanger is not sooted or calcified and that the water flow meets minimum requirement. Verify that the thermal regulator is opening correctly and that the bypass is sound. If you are sensing low flue temperature verify that the gas water column reading is above the minimum requirement. Veryify the pins on the PWA for the stack flue sensor are clean. You could also have a bad PWA or a bad Stack Flue Sensor. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your Maxetherm heater.
I double checked the heater this morning. The E05 code was there but it was saying service heater. Now that I think about it, the service heater light has been the one coming on, not the service system. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning my cartridge filters and I am hoping this will help the problem. We’ll see what the next few days bring. I may need new filters as the ones I have are on their fourth season. Any other advice?

I have a max-e-therm 333 pool heater. Everything is clean and the water flow is good. I turn on my heater and it runs for a minute or so, then the heater turns off. The code E-05 shows up. The light underneath the control panel shows SFS code. Heater is 5 years old. Do you suggest trying a new flew sensor?
Rick. SFS indicates stack flue sensor.
I have an EO5 error code on my SR 333 NA stay right pool heater as a temporary fix could we bypassed the stack flu sensor until the new part gets here by splicing the wires together
