pool pump

about once a year when I turn off the pump there is a massive back pressure that throws the water out the input pipe into the pool.

Jim this can be a normal occurance depending on your plumbing setup with no adverse reaction to the pool or equipment. If it causes issues with re-priming your pool pump you will want to shut the isolation valve directly in front of the pump on the intake side as soon as you cut power to the pump motor. If you don’t have an isolation valve, installing one could alleviate this random back pressure. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your swimming pool.
