Pool Pilot

I cleaned my filters and screen thoroughly three days ago. As soon as I started it back up, the “Check System” light was flashing with the message on the Pool Pilot reading “Purifier Off – Check Flow”. I took everything apart again this afternoon including the cell and everything is flowing great (20 psi) and the water is crystal clear. Yet, the flashing light is still on and my purifier is off. My fear is my water is going to get out of whack and/or my Pool Pilot is malfunctioning (bigger fear of course). Any suggestions?

    1. I have set a couple messages since the original with no response. Situation with the Pool Pilot is still the same only now the water is cloudy (can’t see the bottom of the pool). I should add I bought new filters, a new cell and an electronic board for the heater at the beginning of last season. At a bit of a loss here!

    Hi Dave:

It sounds like you have done everything to troubleshoot a check flow error and it may be time to contact our customer care team to book a service call.

In the meantime, please add your weekly shock treatment, have a water test done as soon as you can and add raw form chlorine sticks into the skimmer so your water quality is not effected.

Just to double check, can you do the following for the check flow error:
    1. unplug your salt unit from power
    2. raise your pool water level high – above 3/4 up the skimmer
    3. clean the skimmer basket
    4. clean the pump basket
    5. remove the system 3 cartridge filters (ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME WHILE TROUBLESHOOTING-PUT THEM BASK IN AS SOON AS THESE STEPS ARE FINISHED)
    6. remove the caretaker screen on your salt unit (the little mesh screen where it says “clean union screen regularly) it is located in the cell by-pass assembly
    7. prime the system and make sure it is circulating robustly in the skimmer and returns.
    8. plug the salt unit back in, let it boot up and see if the flow error is gone.

if the flow error is gone, the error was related to the filter cartridge or the cell screen and these can be cleaned/replaced as required.

if the flow error is not gone, it is time to book a service call.

I hope this helps and Happy Swimming!
