My pool heater starts and then stops after a few seconds, message E05 comes up on digital screen where temp should be

  1. Mo if the water is very cold ie 50 F or below you could try cycling the heater on and off a few times til EO5 clears. If that doesn’t work you could have a sooted or calcified tube sheet, a bad or plugged thermal regulator or bypass. If not that then verify that the pins on the PWA for the SFS are clean. With the stack flue sensor open verify the wires are connected to the SFS and the PWA. If they are you could have a bad SFS. If EO5 is still lit after that you could have a bad PWA. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a Diagnostic and Repair of your Maxetherm pool heater.
