  1. Mike if you just replaced the heater element and the heater indicator light is on check for current at one of the heater wires with your clamp on multimeter. With the indicator light on you should have approx 22amps +/- 10%. Proper current is proof that the heater is working. Make sure your spa is in Standard mode. If you don’t have 22amps you may have a bad heater element. Check around the heater out stake connectors on your PWA for brown or burnt marks. You could have a bad PWA that is burning out heater elements. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your Sundance Cayman Spa.

  2. I have a 1998Altimar. Just opened it, set cycles, all good. Then, watchdog popped up (this is after a week of using it with no problems. Threw breaker, came back on. Reset cycles, etc. Problem is, displays shows temperature that is wrong (example 103 when it’s actually only about 80) therefore heater will not come on. What do I need to check?

    1. Gayle, the Watchdog messsage can be caused by a few different things. That being said if you have that temperature differential of 103 to 80 you may have a bad temperature sensor. A bad temperature sensor can throw the Watchdog message. If all else fails contact your local Sundance Spas Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your Sundance Altamar Spa.
