Kim if you open up your front skirt panel look for a small black box with a red and green light. If the circulation pump is moving water and the red and green lights are on your ClearRay system is active. If your ClearRay bulb is 365 days or older it should be replaced. To check your built in bulb countdown timer consult your Sundance 780 series owners manual page 30 for instructions on how to check your countdown timer. The number reading on your countdown timer will indicate how many days are left before replacement of your ClearRay bulb is required. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a service of your ClearRay.
Hi Lori. If you have an Edison built in 2018, once the timer expires the display will alternate between the water temperature and “CHANGE CLEARRAY BULB”.
For the clear ray system will the light that indicates the bulb is on go off if there is a issue with the bulb / burnt out? I just want to know as it is an enclosed system which leads me to believe it’s probably not safe to see the light directly
Ryan, Both lights are ON indicates normal operation.
Both lights are OFF indicates that the system is
OFF.
Green (power) is ON and Red (bulb) is OFF.
Indicates the bulb is burnt out and must be replaced.
2013 Sundance Optima. It’s been a year since I replaced my clear ray bulb and I received the blb on the display panel. When I went to replace the bulb, I noticed that there were no lights on (red or green). I checked and the system is “ON” in the LCD panel. I change the bulb but I still have no lights. What should I do?
Bill, make sure the ClearRay icon is showing in the LCD. If it is not the ClearRay could be in rest mode. The ClearRay will shut off anytime a jet pump or blower is turned on. If it is showing, then open the front access cover of the ClearRay where you access the bulb. If you don’t see the ClearRay bulb blue light on with the icon on the LCD then you may have a bad connection, bad ballast and or bad ClearRay.
I’ve just purchased a new 880 Capri spa, it’s been in for one week now. I have noticed that when the ClearRay system was working on the models in the show room there were bubbles visible in the water. I am not seeing them on my system. After only a week the water has turned very cloudy. Is the ClearRay system working?
Chris, what is your chlorine or bromine ppm level in the spa today? Also have you had a water sample from the current water in the spa tested in a professional pool/hot tub store lab in the last 7 days?

I just got the SPA a week ago, so no, I’ve not taken the water to a lab. Do people really do that with a new SPA?

Yes they do! If the ClearRay is not working it is still possible for the spa to be used with good chemistry balance and a clean filter. Both the red and green light should be lit up on the ClearRay box. If both lights are off the ClearRay is off. If the green light is on and the red light is off there is a possible issue with the bulb.
2017 Jacuzzi 210. I just changed the Clearray UV bulb and now neither red or green light is on? the “ blb” was still flashing which tells me the system has power?
anyone have to replace the ballast assembly?
Neither light on means the ClearRay is in rest mode and or not working. The blb message will continue to flash regardless of the ClearRay operation until it is reset on the control panel. It is a circuit board programming feature. Check that your circ pump is set to run 24hrs. If that checks out you could have a bad connection at the ClearRay and or a bad ClearRay.
