  1. Richard, check around the equipment bay area for any moisture or water leaking that may be getting into the Sentry control box or pump motor areas.
Also check that your GFCI enclosure is moisture free. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your Sundance Edison Spa.

  2. Hi, there is no moisture in the control box, pump cavity or load centre. There is nothing obvious.
When i remove the heating load, the GFCI stays on. I checked the resistance on the heating element, and it is 10 ohms and periodically jumps up to 16-18 for a second than back to 10. Is this correct? as i could not find this info in the manual. Is it possible to have a bad GFCI breaker? What do you suggest to do next?

    1. Richard if the spa has been circulating good for 4 days and heated to your desired temperature with no problems and you see no moisture anywhere near the equipment mentioned you would want to try and disconnect the leads at the heater element cold rods. Or disconnect the leads at J9 abd J10 on your PWA. If the GFCI keeps from tripping then you could have a bad heater element. Nuisance tripping is a difficult one to nail down sometimes but if you set the spa to call for heat and the GFCI immediately trips when the heater element turns on this is a good place to start. As I mentioned in my previous post, I did remove the leads to the heater and checked the resistance. What I need to know is what the resistance should be to know if my element is the cause.

        1. Richard if you removed the leads from the heater element and the GFCI doesn’t trip you may have a bad heater element. Checking the heater element with an ohm meter is not a conclusive test of a bad or working element as they can sometimes be intermittent. Lower the water in the spa. Make a call for heat with your topside control and observe if your GFCI immediately trips or trips shortly after the heater turns on. If it does, cut the power to the spa, remove the leads from the heater element, reapply power to the spa and make a call for heat again and observe if the GFCI immediately trips or trips shortly after the heat icon turns on. If it does not trip you may have a bad heater element. If all else fails contact our Service Support Desk to book a diagnostic and repair of your Sundance Edison Spa.
