FLO error on Jacuzzi Spa

Just moved in to a house this winter with a Jacuzzi Spa. I emptied it and cleaned it this spring. After refilling it I keep getting a flashing FLO error on the control panel and it does not heat up to the set temperature. The jets are working so I don’t think it is an air lock. I have cleaned the filters in a chemical solution and rinsed them off. Is there something I can do myself to fix this?

  1. Hi Gavin. Even though your jets are working it still could be an air lock especially after a fresh fill. The jet pumps direct flow to the jets but the circ pump directs flow past the flow switch and through the heater to the circulation outlet in the spa. If you remove the filter and shoot water straight down the filter inlet with your garden hose this may aleviate an airlock. Also you could loosen the connection to the inlet on the smaller circ pump til the air is released. If all this checks out you could have blockage in the flow switch or circulation line and or a bad connection to the flow switch or a bad flow switch. Keep in touch and let me know how you make out. We have technicians in your area this week in case you need to book a spa diagnostic.

  2. My spa heats up for ten min then I get a Flo error. I took out the filter same result. Shut breaker off same result. Help

  3. Nigel-its an Gecko in.k300. The heater works when the jets are on but falls out when it’s just on heat.

Just purchased a few days ago, everything working great when I inspected the unit before purchase. Drained it, loaded it and brought it home. Filled tub up and Im getting a FLO error, pumps click, but thats as far as it goes. Water level, full. Pulled filter (new). Opened all unions to release in air, left open until adequate water flowed. Stuck hose down intake and every jet to push out anymore air that may be in lines. Still get the FLO error. It has to be something simple as it was working flawlessly 2 days ago.

    1. Hi Jeff. Typically a FLO code message is caused by a dirty filter or an air lock. Air locks typically happen after a drain and fill. If that all checks out you could have a bad connection to the flow switch and or a bad flow switch. You may wanna check with whomever you bought it from if they added any guarantee with the purchase. If not you may have to source a flow or pressure switch for it. If you could tell me what model control box you have I may be able to provide a purchase link for a flow switch.

  5. Hi Mark, I have a Jacuzzi J370 / 2002 hot tub. Getting a FLO error. Have replaced filters, Flo switch and still getting the error. One thing I have noticed is that the two pumps kick on/off fine, but there is a much smaller pump that appears not to be coming on. Thinking it is a circulation pump. Could that be the issue? in addition, after replacing the Flo Switch, there seems to be a air bubble in the switch that does not go away even when the two pumps are on. Any advise would be appreciated. Dean

  6. For a 2002 J370: I have a Flo error, the pumps work but the heater does not. I already released any air at the diverter valve and ran the hose into the filter inlet. This error has been off and on for months and merely shutting off the power and turning back on helped until now. How do I test the flow switch, hi limit sensor, and/or temperature sensor? I noticed all 3 of these switches are included in the same harness connector.

  7. I have the same problem as Dean. My Sundance Bahia 780 was empty , I forgot to fill it in filter compartment, and I’ve tried the water hose were filter goes ,and running a cycle without filter, and both pumps seems to cycle on fine, but I have a FL 1 code and no temperature light. Also have air bubble at flow switch and when jets are on, the toggle switch inside doesn’t move. NEED HELP!!!

    1. Is it a flashing FLO message ie FLO and then the temperature, then FLO and the temperature again or is it a solid FLO or solid FLO2? Also what region or postal code/zip code are you in?

Hey! I have a 2003 Jacuzzi Premium. Cleaned it and filled yesterday. Keeps saying FLO. Temperature went from 50 up to 66 and won’t go higher. Still says FLO. Tried the hose in inlet, cracked pump pipes and water is moving, jets work great, new filter etc. please help. Thank you!

  9. Hi getting two errors on my tub, first one is an overheat error but the tub is within spec. The second is flow control error. Appears when filters are in (brand New) but resets when filter is removed. Waterfall runs and recirc pump appears to be working. Tub is a late 2015 model jacuzzi j480

    1. Could be a back pressure issue causing the flow error Robert. If the spa overheats briefly while the filter is in that could be the reason for the overheat code. Overheat code could also be a bad temp sensor and or hi limit sensor.
