Altamars heater leaking.

Good day everyone.
I have a 2004 Sundance altamar,
And I’ve noticed a slow but steady drip from the heater.
It appears to be coming from the seal for the elements heater casing.
I’ve removed it and taken it apart, it would appear the seal is dry. but it also appears to be glued on.

So before I go using a gasket sealer on it. Can the seal be replaced easily? Or any thoughts on other ideas that would stop this leak.
Not going to drain my tub, but will give me a pretty nice hockey rink come winter.
Thanks

  1. Shawn our recommendation is to replace the heater if it is leaking from this area. If you require replacement parts please visit http://www.aqua-tech.ca click on Parts and Accessories and then click on the big yellow button Get pricing and availability. The part number you are looking for is: 893030058

  2. our hot tub is a 880 series maxxus, just lately 4 little lines come up which means watchdog we flip the breaker and it work for a little.the repair men are very busy ,is there a fix i can do myself or should i empty the hot tub and wait for the repair thanks

    1. Phil, Watchdog can be caused my many things overheat, bad temp sensor, bad transformer, bad topside just to name a few. If you have a spare temp sensor you can take your old sensor out of
the sensor harness and plug the new one in and hang the new one over the edge of the spa. If the spa stays out of Watchdog you will know your original sensor is bad.

  3. Bought a used Sundance 880 Optima 2010. The lights are not working. The 6560-134 DCU has a burnt area on the back side, but I checked the power at the main circuit board where the wires connect and there is no voltage. Any ideas what I can look for next ? Also how do I check the led lights to make sure they are not burnt out before I go and put money into a new DCU?

  4. my maxxus is leaking water from the heater. it looks like a hole should be plugged. should there be tubing?>

    1. Sounds like you may need a new heater Sherry. Depending on the age of the Maxxus you may require a new hi-limit sensor as well. We have both in stock. Let me know if you would like to order these parts and I can send you a link.
