Modern update is what this client asked us for and in partnership with their Aqua-Tech designer, they achieved all their goals. The most important message coming from this project, is that absolutely anything can be done to an existing pool structure.

The existing pool was approximately 25 years old and was a fairly large 17ft x 38ft Jewel/Oval. The homeowners had lived on the property for a few years and wanted to do a full renewal on the pool in order to upgrade the mechanical, structural, and hydraulic aspects, as well as to give it a more contemporary look and feel. The pool had a 3ft perimeter of plain concrete with a small patio area that had shifted, heaved, and cracked over time which they wanted to upgrade. They also wanted to install some kind of water feature to add another dimension of sight and sound to the back yard. The pool only had a ladder for access and they thought it would be nice to have a walk-in step for themselves and their children.

In addition to removing and replacing the existing concrete with new architectural concrete with a cantilevered capstone edge, and replacing the entire circulation system, we installed a large 10ft wide, 5ft radius engineered vinyl over steel step, and a beautiful 4ft double modular Rico Rock waterfall with some additional feature rocks on either side. A multi-coloured LED pool light was installed to add a touch of night time ambience.

When changing your liner, we can change your current steps to built in or add new built in at any location you wish. Built in steps not only function as entry/exit points but also act as great places to rest, relax and enjoy your pool. The vinyl covering creates a seamless transition in and out of your pool.

Every mechanical system needs to be taken care of. When you are changing your liner, it is the best time to check how things are operating under the hood of your pool and fix any problems before they occur. While changing your liner our team performs a full 138 point inspection to make sure that you will stay swimming for years! We discovered this client had the opportunity to upgrade their skimmer, plumbing and circulation system and save on energy and maintenance costs over their time owning the pool. The new energy efficient equipment is also friendlier on the environment.

Cantilever Concrete coping style

Nothing will date your pool faster than the white plastic coping that was popular to join pool and decking. For this client we used concrete engineering techniques to bring the concrete decking over the pool edge and create an extremely smooth finish to the touch and to the eye.

Rico Rock Waterfall

One of the simplest features to add to your pool to add value and extra is a water feature. The sound of running water is proven to relax and sooth the person and, we all know one or two kids who would just love to jump off the added height and play under the stream!

What time of year is best to change my pool liner?

Great question! Most people like to change their pool liner in the spring as it effects the pool usage least....or so they think! The best time for your pool structure is to replace the pool liner in the heat of the summer when the ground conditions are dry and stable. The process is pretty fast and we can easily accommodate this when your family is at the cottage for a couple days. Other than that, an autumn liner replacement works great for many folks. The great news is that we change pool liners April into October so there is lots of time to get you and your family swimming

How long does a pool liner change take?

There is a lot of steps that go into changing your pool liner. What most people find surprising is that more than half of them occur before we even start to drain the water from your pool. What we find on average is that from the day the existing pool is drained until the day you are able to swim again is about 7 days.
