Building a relationship and learning your client’s desires are key parts of any job. In this instance, we were lucky enough to have an idea of what this clients tastes were as we had previously done the pool in their backyard.

The space they wanted us to work on wasn’t terrible work, but just wasn’t getting it done for them. They liked the original tile work on the floor and the base of the vanity but that was pretty much it. It was a smaller bathroom that had this big, ugly tub that wasn’t being used. While on vacation they fell in love with a steam shower in their hotel room and wanted one at home. Without completely redoing the entire room, this was going to be a difficult task. The Steam Shower

This steam shower was high-end hotel worthy, complete with a heated stone bench, heated floors and the generated was wifi enabled so they could start the steam on their phone! The first part of achieving the steam shower dream was easy enough, we ripped out the big ugly tub and got a feel for the space we now had to work with. A steam generator needs its own designated power source and with this being a second floor bathroom with no space to spare, it was going to require a creative solution. We brainstormed a few ideas before the plan to install a conduit on the exterior wall of the house was decided upon. With the conduit placed outside the bathroom, we could now maximize space in the shower by hiding the generator inside the bench seating in the shower!

Intense Veining Tile

A bright grey tile with intense veining created an immaculate look inside the steam shower that was accented with a linear grey toned tile that carried throughout the rest of the space.

New Countertop on Vanity

The vanity was given a facelift with new fixtures and stone counter top that matched the bench seating in the shower.
