We pride ourselves on delivering one-of-a-kind bathroom transformations. Now when we walk into a space for the first time it is “unique”, and this spaces transformation was one that required everyone to bring their creative A-game.
The previous owners had a son who was in a wheelchair and they did a great job of building him a completely wheelchair accessible bathroom. The space was massive, but most of it was now unused by the new owners. So we started to brain storm on how to use the space. The bathroom was located in the hallway and the other side of the wall was the master bedroom, so we decided split the room in two.

Design Your Bathroom Read moreBuilding a relationship and learning your client’s desires are key parts of any job. In this instance, we were lucky enough to have an idea of what this clients tastes were as we had previously done the pool in their backyard.
The space they wanted us to work on wasn’t terrible work, but just wasn’t getting it done for them. They liked the original tile work on the floor and the base of the vanity but that was pretty much it. It was a smaller bathroom that had this big, ugly tub that wasn’t being used. While on vacation they fell in love with a steam shower in their hotel room and wanted one at home. Without completely redoing the entire room, this was going to be a difficult task. When we first entered this bathroom, it felt very tucked away. With a box like configuration, a small shower in the corner, and oddly enough a big beautiful window hidden away in the back corner of the room.
From the rich colour scheme inspired by the blinds to the heated floor tiles blending seamlessly with tiles on the shower wall, every little detail matched the clients dreams. So much so that they had us come back and do 2 more bathrooms in their home. Design Your Bathroom Read moreWe’ve all been there. Going about our day when something in our brain tells us “Hmm I need a snack” and of course, we are more than happy to oblige. Yes the pantry is full of things that lift our spirits and make us happy, momentarily at least. Where one would normally find a salty snack or something to satisfy your sweet tooth, our guys found a bathroom space saving solution!
The wall between the bathroom and pantry was torn down and in its place, an immaculate new shower was crafted. The former pantry gave way to a shower that let you escape the world. Everything in this massive paradise was in harmony, from the gorgeous multi-tone tile work to the heated shower floors and even the corner shower bench with a heated seat. A shower built for a king just minutes from Kings park.

The area, the layout, the finishes are all perfect. Your master bedroom is massive and has its own en-suite with a closet… that takes up WAY too much space.
Your forever home should be your dream home, and this bathroom was anything but that for this couple. They wanted a dream bathroom not an oversized closet with a 3 piece bath attached. A tiny little tub in the corner just wasn’t going to do the trick, so to make the space work they wanted the closet removed. Being easily spotted in a crowded room, seeing over the people standing in front of you at a concert, or my personal favourite, helping someone reach an item on the top shelf at the grocery store. The disadvantage of being bestowed with the gift of height? Small spaces feel even smaller than they already are.
So this statuesque couple had to have their tiny en-suite elevated. When we first entered the space, it was your typical Linden Woods bathroom or as we like to call them, the 3 B’s: Basic, boxy and boring. It had a big corner tub that took up way too much space, a layout that misused so much of the already limited space and a shower so small the clients couldn’t even turn around in it. They wanted a place to escape to, not get trapped in it. Our design focused on giving them the room they needed.

The moment we walked into the original 1980’s style bathroom of the house we all thought the exact same thing “How does a room this massive feel so small?”. There was this huge, ugly wall to wall linen cabinet, everything was blocked off into sections and it had zero flow to it. We needed to find a way to turn this beast into a beauty.

It doesn’t take much to make her day, but this husband wanted to do so much more. Chocolates and flowers weren’t going to cut it, he wanted to go big. He wanted to surprise her with her dream bathroom.
Yes this surprise was going to be one for the record books. They were going on a 7 week trip and the plan was to start the renovation while they were away. The husband had many of the design choices made before they left and he trusted our expertise to execute the rest. We knew he wanted us to create a relaxing tub area and make-up station for his wife and a one of a kind shower for the both of them. The space we created was sure to please them both.

This couple wanted their Master to be the most masterful of all. The one they had was far from it. The space was huge but wasted on a big ugly island tub and a tiny little shower. They wanted the space completely redone and have it become the retreat they dreamed of. To make their dream come true they needed a space that matched their unique style and was equipped with a steam shower, his and hers vanity and an air tub. We delivered on all those points.

Design Your Bathroom Read moreI’ve always enjoyed a good maze. The twists and turns, the dead-ends and having to use your problem solving skills to escape, it’s all very thrilling. That’s what this project reminds me of, a challenging maze. But instead of corn, it was awkward angles and limited space.
Our clients weren’t a fan of mazes. Especially when it came to having to navigate one to get ready in the morning. Following an oddly shaped wall to the end of the room where the prize is a massive tub isn’t exactly thrilling. No one used the tub, like ever so it essentially became a laundry hamper. Getting ready needed to be less of a challenge and more of a rewarding experience. So we got to work.
What once felt like maze of awkward angles and wasted space was now a perfectly symmetrical, gorgeous bathroom. Design Your Bathroom Read moreA new Bathroom done the right way is often a dream come true. But that dream can quickly become a nightmare if you aren’t careful or decide that “It’s not that hard”. Trust us, it’s not as easy as we make it look. There are lots of people out there that do beautiful DIY work, unfortunately for this couple that was not the case.
They moved to Winnipeg from Thompson and bought a gorgeous house that hid something horrifying in the basement. Yes the basement housed a bathroom that the previous owner had “Finished” himself. He clearly cared about the space and spared no expense on the fixtures he installed, but he should’ve hired someone to install them. The floor was uneven, the toilet was built into the wall, not mounted, literally built INTO the wall, and the tub was so high off the ground you basically needed a step ladder to get in.

Design Your Bathroom Read moreWe were initially hired by this couple to give their tired bathroom a face lift. The floor was getting old and they needed an actual shower area for the space to function. So they set a budget and we worked with it. The original layout also featured a massive corner tub underneath the 2 windows. They didn’t love it, but weren’t in the position to get rid of it just yet so it was left alone. We created a new functional shower area and installed heated tile floors and wainscoting to match.
As time went by, they felt like the bathroom wasn’t complete. The corner tub had become a space waster that made the room hard to clean. They were ready for this partial reno to become whole so we were brought back in.

We have access to the entire wealth of human knowledge in our hands and we mostly use it on meme’s and cat video’s… Yes it certainly is the perfect distraction from life, but it can also inspire an entire project.
For this young couple, their typical, boring builder grade “Master” bathroom wasn’t doing the trick. There was nothing relaxing about the massive ugly tub deck that took up half the room or the tiny shower that was leaking into their garage. This bathroom was neither fashion nor function and they wanted one that was both. The wife loved browsing through Pinterest and wanted their bathroom to be picture perfect too.

Design Your Bathroom Read moreOrganized, clean and uniform, these words can be used to describe an operating room. Placement is key and everything has to be precise, there is no margin for error. For 2 young doctors, they needed their bathroom to be the same.
Their original bathroom was very typical builder grade. A lack-luster corner tub and shower to go along with a monstrous linen Cabinet that took up WAY too much space. Storage is important in a bathroom, but it shouldn’t be the top priority. The space didn’t work for them, they needed a change. They needed somewhere bright with clean lines and had uniformity so they could relax after a long, stressful shift.

Design Your Bathroom Read moreLong and narrow isn’t a great combo when it comes to a bathroom and they had 2 of them. The first was theirs which was over 15 feet long and was very tight due to a large closet located right off the entrance. That coupled with a poorly placed shower meant the space had no flow and almost no room to move around. They wanted to maximize this massive space that was being wasted. The dream was a space they could escape to with a relaxing soaker tub, big shower and a dual vanity. Making dreams come true is kind of our thing.

It’s a simple concept but it can make or break a bathroom. What feels like a massive space can be easily ruined by questionable design choices and massive space wasting elements. The space had no flow, terrible lighting and so much wasted potential. They managed to install this massive corner tub but it killed the rest of the room as they then had to jam in a tiny little shower and an ugly single vanity. It had the size to be so much more than what it was. The opportunity to create a dream bathroom was there and our job was to make it a reality.
The brand new layout created flow and maximized the massive space that was wasted in the original bathroom. The bathroom that had once been a disappointment, finally realized its full potential with a little help from Aqua Tech!

Design Your Bathroom Read moreThis particular project really tested our guys and client’s imagination as it was, for lack of a better word, unique. Imagine, waking up in your Master bedroom on a Sunday morning. Your first stop is the washroom, so you walk across the room, open the door and walk down a hallway… Don’t go too far or you’ll end up in the awkward spa room. Turn left, and there it is, a lacklustre 2 piece washroom. Nothing really “Master” about that.
Our guys had to work out their imaginations for this one. Then the answer became clear, why isn’t this all one space? Just like that, walls came down and the long awkward hallway began its transformation into a master retreat. Every ounce of creative was put into this unique space.
The 2 piece beast was now slain and our clients dreams had come true. They loved it so much, we did their other 2 bathrooms and kitchen too. Now stop imagining your master retreat, and let Aqua Tech make it a reality!Tuxedo
Design Your Bathroom Read more1959 was a good year for many things. Things like space travel with both the US and USSR successfully launching space craft out of earth’s orbit, for Alaska and Hawaii which officially became states, and for toys as the no Iconic Barbie doll was first launched. One thing that wasn’t so good, the 1959 bathrooms.
In typical Tuxedo fashion at the time, our clients upstairs bathroom was covered in cement. Cement floors and cement walls didn’t exactly say “warm and welcoming” but rather screamed “duck and cover”. The bland beige cement walls were accented with a terrible tub and boring beige vanity that was actually a fairly good size. Tucked away in the back of the room was the toilet and tiny shower. This bunker bathroom had worn out its welcome and our clients instructions were “Get rid of 1959”.
When all was said and done, 1959 was nowhere to be seen. The bunker bathroom became a Modern retreat. Stop living in the past, call Aqua Tech and Modernize your tired old bathroom!

They stand the test of time and will always be in style. This is what these clients wanted, a classic River Heights bathroom that would never go out of style.
The space we were given to work with was simply immaculate. A massive room with so much natural light coming in from the large windows throughout the room. The only issue with this was the lack of privacy. The bathroom backed onto a 4 season room which was used regularly. We didn’t want to lose any of that incredible natural light so instead we redid the windows and installed new blinds that maximized privacy without sacrificing light.

Sure it’s not the high point of your getaway, but it is certainly nice to come back and relax in after your day of adventure. That was the inspiration for this bathroom.
The clients had recently come back from a trip and wanted their bathroom to feel like a retreat. Unfortunately the one they had felt more like something to escape from and not to. An awkward layout, lack of functional space, a toilet that forced you to sit with your knees in the doorway and a weird corner tub that nobody wanted. This place screamed the wrong kind of “Retreat!” and appeared to be a designer’s nightmare.
The best part of a vacation is bringing a piece of it home with you and, since this renovation, now everyday could feel like staying at a 5 star retreat thanks to Aqua Tech!
